Maintenance Access

The Maintenance Access is an environment in the depths of a spacecraft carrier. Inspired by, but not accurately representing the brilliant 'Space Station' concept painted by Brian Taylor (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/KX6GX), this artwork is part of my 'Science Fiction Anthology', which represents all the hard surface environments depicting portions of spaceships or stations, and related space scenes.

I decided to go for a drastically different lighting scheme than is depicted in the original concept, as I wanted this maintenance access to be more moody and atmospheric, with few larger light sources. I also had to extrapolate quite a few areas that weren't visible in the concept, such as the ends of the tunnel, and certain aspects of the walls.

I have vague plans to return to this environment and adjust the lighting to more properly represent the concept, but for now, I'm rather pleased with how it has come out.
